Yes and no.....if temperatures are lower and there is a breeze then no. If temps are warmer and no breeze then yes.

We were there in February a few years back.  Temperatures would dip into the middle to high 40's at night but middle 60's during the day.  The gnats would get into everything even with the windows and doors closed.  Screens are a joke when the flying teeth take flight. 
The ceiling seemed to move as the blanket of gnats scurried around looking for their next meal.


I don't believe you can expect any difference in the gnat problem unless a steady stiff breeze keeps them grounded.

I too love the park but have crossed it off my list.

   I like the park myself, never had a problem with gnats, We will return this summer for sure... Had a great time riding the scooter down to St. Mary's yard selling....

I was there for New Years one year and they got bad everytime the temp went above 40*, plan accordingly.  I will never return there.

My friend lives in Fernandina and says they can be bad in February but less in the cold. I love Crooked River. Went once but couldn't stand the gnats. Steve refuses to ever go back. :?
